Hi,
I like GLC_Player, it's fast and nice looking :-).
I want to use it to navigate inside house model, and current tools are not sufficient for this. I would like to have fly camera, someting like camera control in 3d shooters (WSAD + mouse look). FOV, attitude could be configured in settings tab. Do you think that this would be difficult to add this to GLC_Player?

It's a good request, and it's on the road map for the next release of GLC_lib (2.0.0 Final).

Hi,

Thanks for info. I thought I could add it myself (code looks very nice), but if it is on the way I could wait for a while :-).


btw. When are you going to release GLC_lib (2.0.0 Final)?

GLC_lib 2.0.0 Final is planned for June 2010.

Thanks for your help proposition,but before the release of GLC_lib 2.0.0 Final, I have to make some important changes :oops:

So after release 2.0.0 your help will be welcome.

"camera control like in 3d shooters" is not just a fly mode: Sounds more like an advanced walk mode :
- horizontal mover along xy controled by keys
- z controled by gravity => find the ground, stairs (=>interference checking)
- stop on walls => interference checking again
- lookaround (fixed eye, moving target) controled by mouse
- speed controled by timer
- initial speed TBD
=> nice challenge!!

I will just make a fly mode :mrgreen:
- Horizontal and vertical move controlled by the mouse
- Speed controlled by key
- No collision detection.
A simple fly mode... 8-)
:D I leave you the challenge to make a "camera control like in 3 d shooter".

And so you need the latest version of glc_lib here : http://glc-lib.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/glc-lib.tar.gz?view=tar
