Post Hierarchy in .dae (COLLADA) files
Hi all,

I have a COLLADA format file (.dae that can be dowloaded here : https://www.sugarsync.com/pf/D7911250_3782511_6573041) that I can open with GLC-player.

The trouble is that the group hierarchies shown on the left panel of GLC-player are not working properly.
When I try to select a group in that panel (or directly on the 3D model), it doesn't work. Only the entire 3D model can be selected.
I must point out that this file was exported from Poser 9 as a COLLADA file format.

Any idea what goes wrong here ?

This is normal, there is only on mesh in the collada file.

It seems that Poser collada exporter merge all mesh into a unique one. :(

Here is the answer of the Poser Technical Support when I told them that there is only one mesh in the COLLADA file:
"It does not appear that the program GLC-player you use is compatible with the Collada Export from Poser. I do not know what other options, other than the OBJ export." :o

Now the strange thing : I imported Nexus 2 (.dae in the GLC-player example folder) into Poser, saved it as a Poser regular file (.pz3) and exported it as .dae again. GLC-player import Poser-Nexus 2.dae pretty much as a .obj file that is no hierachy is kept (all parts at same level) but I can select individual groups.
This is pretty much the opposite of what I have when I export Characters (such as P6 James) from Poser : hierachy is kept but I cannot select individual groups in GLC-player... :?:
Why different behaviours ?

I'm not a specialist of POSER.. ;) So, I don't know why. :?:
Perhaps you can post a topic on the POSER forum about export capabilities.
